Overview
Eight days inside Norway, entirely on tarmac. The Explorer GPX is the category for riders who want the most spectacular roads in Europe without leaving the asphalt: the fjords of the western coast, Bergen, the Jostedalsbreen glacier, the Sognefjellsvegen, Geiranger and the Dalsnibba viewpoint, the Trollstigen, the Atlantic Road, the Arctic Circle and the Lofoten islands. It is the only category open to a passenger. Every category leaves Paris and every category reaches Gate 1 in Oslo four days later, but not on the same road: the two routes are differentiated from the very first kilometre. From Oslo they separate for good, and come back together only in Honningsvåg, at Gate 4, for the final parade to the Globe at the North Cape.

Requirements
Rider
- Valid motorcycle licence for the bike you ride
- Ability to travel in complete self-sufficiency for 13 days
- Good physical condition for days of up to 10 hours in the saddle
- Ability to navigate with a GPX track on a GPS device
- No offroad experience required
- Mandatory personal gear: full-face or offroad helmet, full protection for limbs, shoulders and back, boots, approved gloves, first aid kit, thermal blanket
Bike
- A bike suited to the Explorer GPX category
- Range: minimum 150 km, 200 km recommended
- Roadside assistance coverage valid in all countries crossed
- GPS device, tablet or smartphone with navigation app, plus a second backup GPS device
- Mandatory equipment: puncture repair kit (not required with anti-puncture system), basic tools, lights, indicators and horn in perfect working order
- Load capacity for a 13-day trip. Passenger allowed.

PASSENGER
Explorer GPX is the only category open to passengers. The fee covers the entire event, including the Gates, the dinners and the ferry crossing.
